Re-anchoring into stillness
Sunday 30th November - 4pm - 6pm
Service Description
Intertwining and harmonising Yin yoga and Qi gong This immersion will leave you feeling completely restored, reconnected and alive. Two beautiful holistic practices melded together - both steeped in the ancient roots of TCM (Chinese Medicine) Our practice will be consciously channeled, to call in the energy of each season, aligning and adjusting the energy curve in connection with the five elements of nature being Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. In TCM, when we move in flow and in harmony with the seasons, we cultivate a relationship that underlies and underpins the fluctuations that naturally arise, each and every phase with its own distinct intention. Cultivating an awareness and understanding of these seasonal shifts allows us to be adaptable and responsive, to stay in optimal flow. Daily ritual around self-care preservation allows us to cleanse, clear and preserve - cultivating, harvesting and protecting our chi. Qi gong - Is a slow and conscious movement practice in which we awaken and re-direct energy through the meridian channels. Each form is intentional; movement is precise and focused. When in flow, it feels like a moving meditation, awakening stagnant energies and allowing them to clear, transform and release. Yin - Also a slow and yielding grounded practice invites patience and awareness, explored in longer deeper holds, targeting deeply held connective tissue (fascia) interwoven in the meridian lines. The stillness within the longer holds, supports space for sensations such as resilience, perseverance, intuitive knowing and trust. Promoting a sense of connectedness within your own body supported by the breath. IN OUR SHARED PRACTICE TOGETHER: * We will begin by ‘arriving’ - connecting into the energy of the elements, through focussed breath awareness and by awakening chi flow * Transitioning into a standing qigong practice, harnessing, directing and cultivating chi within the meridian channels and acupressure points * Dropping into a grounded Yin floor-based practice, slowing our pace down, in order to absorb and yield, to release the deeper layers and levels of holding through our tissues. * Pausing into stillness through meditation. Allowing integration. A quiet moment of conscious reflection. * Pure stillness and absorption through sound. Our practice will end by tuning into the sounds and vibrations connected to the elements to completely restore and release the body on a completely different level.
